Success and New Starts

"The Tempest" was a huge hit! I hope that everyone got to see it. We have great audiences every night who really enjoyed the performance. Thanks to Shakespeare in the Swamp for putting on a great show, we look forward to working with you again!

Auditions were Sunday and last night for Eugene O'Neill's "Moon for the Misbegotten". Following the events of O'Neill's classic Long Day's Journey into Night, Moon... brings James "Jamie" Tyrone, Jr., to the home of his tenant farmer, Mike Hogan, a salty Irish geezer and encounters after years, his voluptuous, amazon-like daughter, Josie. During one moonlit night, as the lovestruck Josie seems to claim him as her own, the truculent, drunken Jamie drowns in a wash of self-pity and remorse. When dawn comes, the moon is gone and so is the man, leaving Josie with a new challenge to her dauntless spirit.
The show directed by Jerry Rose will run May 6th through the 22nd.

Wow, we have been busy!

As you can see, we have been so busy at the ART, we didn't have a spare second to blog about it! Here is an update on everything that has been going on:
The Gala was a great success and a wonderful time. Thank you to everyone who came out! We raised over $400 dollars in season tickets and donations. If you donated, don't forget to look for your name on our Wall of Fame.

"The Elephant Man" was also a huge success. I hope everyone got a chance to see this wonderful production.

"The Tempest" is ready to storm in next Friday. You can get advanced tickets at Book Gallery West or at the door half an hour before the show. We are all very excited about this very original production so make sure that you come out and see it.

"The Tempest" has a dark night on Friday the 25th so the ART is hosting an open mic night of Shakespeare readings. Bring your favorite piece from Shakespeare and perform it live for our audience. It is only $5 to attend.

That is all right now, keep reading for more updates and check out all of our photos of "The Elephant Man" and "The Tempest" on Facebook!
